Magnificent and Spectacular. Just came from Legazpi City (Albay) to observe Mayon Volcano’s current show of might and beauty. This often-shy geological wonder teased my team with regular spewing of gas clouds and lava flows during our two-day stint.
Our Lady of the Gate Parish Church. Life is normal on this 17th century Baroque-style church in Daraga; found on top of a hill, it offers a panoramic view of Mayon Volcano and adjacent townships of Albay. The team settled here during our first day of sunset watching as we didn’t make the Lignon Hill cut-off time for access of vehicles. Lignon Hill is popular viewing deck, where Philvolcs together with foreign and local media covering Mayon are now rigged. Shot using at 24 seconds using a Hoya CPL+ ND400 filters, f/11, ISO 50, 14mm on a 1DMk2.
